began in Missouri in 191 7 with Will Calhoun Walker, but the effort collapsed after three

that we are a "darn fine crowd" and the sheriff offered to have one of our guys deputized,

stands in New York and other select cities across America. The magazine
sold for a quarter and comprised posts in addition to naked illustrations of Europeans. Boone's
descriptive writings appeared often through the entire magazine, which also contained a
